3rd Grade Advanced Math Success
Designed specifically for students enrolled in advanced or accelerated math this class provides the extra support needed to build confidence and achieve success with more rigorous mathematical concepts. Rather than simply reviewing homework, our certified teachers focus on teaching the "why" behind the math, strengthening foundational skills, and filling in learning gaps so students can confidently tackle advanced coursework throughout the school year.
Through small-group instruction, hands-on problem solving, and challenging enrichment activities, students will develop a deeper understanding of key mathematical concepts while sharpening their critical thinking skills. Topics include multiplication mastery, division strategies, fractions, decimals, place value, mental math, number patterns, geometry, area and perimeter, and multi-step problem solving. Students will also learn effective test-taking strategies, practice solving higher-level assessment questions, and develop the confidence needed to succeed on classroom, district, and accelerated math assessments. Homework support is available when needed, ensuring students receive guidance without the class becoming solely homework help.

3rd Grade Math Explorers
Third grade is one of the most important years for developing strong mathematical foundations. Our Third Grade Math Lab is designed to reinforce and enrich the concepts students are learning in their third-grade classroom while building the confidence and problem-solving skills needed for long-term success. Following the pacing and expectations of many local school districts, this class provides additional instruction, hands-on practice, and individualized support as new concepts are introduced throughout the school year.
Through engaging math games, manipulatives, collaborative activities, and small-group instruction, students will strengthen their understanding of place value, rounding, addition and subtraction within 1,000, multiplication and division concepts and fact fluency, order of operations, number patterns, and multi-step word problems. Students will also explore area and perimeter, fractions and equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, measurement, time, mass, liquid volume, line plots and graphs, and geometry, including classifying shapes and understanding equal partitions. Throughout the year, students will develop flexible problem-solving strategies, explain their mathematical thinking, and apply their learning to real-world situations. These topics closely mirror the major concepts found in the third-grade curriculum.
In addition to strengthening mathematical understanding, students will practice test-taking strategies, solve higher-level assessment questions, and build the confidence needed to succeed on classroom, district, and state assessments.

3rd Grade Reading & Writing Lab
As students transition into upper elementary, reading and writing expectations increase significantly. Our Third Grade Reading & Writing Lab is designed to help students become thoughtful readers, strong writers, and confident communicators while reinforcing the skills taught in the classroom. Following the pacing and expectations of local school districts, this enrichment class strengthens reading comprehension, written expression, and critical thinking through engaging novels, nonfiction texts, and meaningful writing experiences.
Students will participate in novel studies, literature discussions, and writing workshops while developing higher-level comprehension skills including inferencing, determining theme, character analysis, summarizing, vocabulary development, author's purpose, author's craft, and using text evidence to support their thinking. They will explore both fiction and nonfiction texts, analyze text structures and text features, compare and contrast ideas, and strengthen their understanding of key reading concepts found throughout the third-grade curriculum.
Writing instruction focuses on developing organized, detailed responses through paragraph writing, opinion writing, informational writing, and constructed responses. Students will learn to organize their ideas, cite evidence from the text, revise and edit their work, and write with clarity and confidence.
In addition, students will build the reading comprehension and writing skills needed for classroom, district, and state assessments. They will practice answering higher-level comprehension questions, using test-taking strategies, writing evidence-based responses, and approaching complex reading passages with confidence.
